Balıkesir House
Project description
A project that begins with place.
A concrete and timber house where the garden is treated as part of the interior sequence rather than as a separate exterior layer.
Building the architecture from context.
Large openings and deep overhangs soften the boundary between rooms and vegetation. The project relies on proportion and repetition rather than formal gestures, allowing the changing garden to define the atmosphere.
A restrained palette, a strong atmosphere.
Exposed concrete forms the permanent frame while timber gives scale and warmth to the openings. Dense planting brings texture and seasonal variation directly to the façade.
